Egypt’s photovoltaic industry continues to cooperate with China

Egypt is dry with little rain. The climate in most areas is tropical desert climate, and only the northern coast and Nile Delta are tropical Mediterranean climate

Overview of renewable energy development in Egypt the Egyptian government has decided to achieve 20% of renewable energy power generation by 2022, among which hydropower projects are estimated to account for 6%, wind power accounts for 12% and photovoltaic accounts for 2%. In order to achieve the goal, in recent years, the government has also actively stimulated market development through relevant policies such as on grid electricity price, power station IPP and government boo bid (build, own & operate). The development of renewable energy in Egypt focuses on hydropower, photovoltaic and wind power projects. As of the fiscal year 2016-2017 (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017), the power generation contributed by these projects accounted for about 8% of the total, including hydropower as high as 7%, wind and photovoltaic accounting for about 1%. The proportion of renewable energy power generation is still a distance from the target. On the other hand, when the target of hydropower generation has been achieved ahead of schedule, the current development direction of the government has also begun to turn to photovoltaic and wind projects that still fall short of the target.

In the first half of 2018-2019, the total number of solar components shipped from China to Egypt reached 1.95gw, most of which were shipped in the second half of 2018. Most of these components may be used for 1.8gw fit projects. Most of the components have been pulled last year, which has significantly reduced the component shipment in the first half of this year. In addition, the boo bid is still in progress, and the demand for components has not been reflected. Therefore, the number of components shipped to Egypt in the second half of this year may be further reduced. However, in the future, with the government’s attention and demand for new energy, it is believed that there will be more cooperation with China in solar pv panel system.

In order to improve the environment, the rational use of renewable energy is a matter that every country is trying to implement. Kinsend is committed to the solar panel support structure design. Aluminum solar panel mounting structure has won high praise from many customers for its advantages of lightness, environmental protection and corrosion resistance. We look forward to cooperating with customers in more different regions.
