From the natural environment, South Africa belongs to the typical savanna climate, light resources are abundant. Photovoltaic power generation in such favorable climate conditions, coupled with its more obvious economic advantages, as well as relatively low KWH cost, has gradually become the current South Africa out of the energy crisis has great potential for development of a subsector.
From your point of view, which is going to occupy a greater proportion between centralized and distributed?
-Centralized photovoltaics involve the installation of large, utility-scale solar farms that are designed to generate electricity for the grid. This approach can be more efficient and cost-effective than distributed photovoltaics, as large-scale operations benefit from economies of scale.
Personally, I am very optimistic about the impact of ground-based photovoltaic systems in South Africa’s photovoltaic power generation
